Description
Vacuum-superinsulated piping systems for the transport of cryogenic liquefied gases such as nitrogen, oxygen and argon are manufactured from stainless steel. The piping systems are produced as both rigid and flexible sections.
Expansion joints installed in the inner pipe compensate for the thermal expansion between the vacuum jacket and the media pipe. To minimise heat penetration, low-loss supports are used between the outer and the inner pipe.
The individual sections of the piping system are connected to each other by means of flanged bayonet couplings and clamping rings. Upon request, the connections can be permanently made as welded couplings.
A combined vacuum and safety valve is fitted to every vacuum space. This valve protects the outer pipe against impermissibly high pressure and, after connecting a vacuum lock, serves to create the vacuum or to restore it in case of a repair. Active adsorption agents are fitted to the media pipe to maintain the long-term vacuum.
